2024 The Rift Adelaide Hills Chardonnay

Named The Rift after a valley, in this case the Piccadilly Valley.

Tasting Note

From Summertown in the Piccadilly Valley; about 15% new oak. A nicely detailed wine, with nutty, mealy oak and lees notes complexing, not overriding, the white stone fruit and citrus notes. Lemon curd, white pear, grapefruit pith, nectarine, a riverstone mineral note. Texture is pleasingly built, with pithiness, some slip, and nothing overwrought, all keenly arrayed. Vibrant, savoury and fruit-deep all at once, and seamlessly so. It’s very enjoyable and very good.
